PB RoboTech partnered with a leading 3PL provider to deliver the full onsite installation and commissioning of a new high-performance conveyor and sortation system designed to increase processing capacity and improve fulfillment efficiency. The project required seamless coordination across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines, with strict expectations around safety, quality, and system uptime.

PB’s onsite team began by executing the complete mechanical assembly of the conveyor and sorter equipment, ensuring every frame, transfer point, and support structure was aligned to specification. In parallel, the electrical team installed and connected all field devices, sensors, power distribution, control panels, and network wiring, preparing the system for controls and PLC integration. Once mechanical and electrical construction was complete, PB performed structured PLC commissioning, validating communication with upstream WMS/WCS systems, testing device responses, and verifying logic for diverting, accumulation, and zone control.

The commissioning phase included detailed equipment alignment checks, device calibration, photo-eye verification, belt and roller testing, and progressively building up from single-component validation to full end-to-end performance runs. Throughout the process, PB coordinated closely with the client’s operations and IT teams, maintaining clear communication on progress, dependencies, and safe access scheduling within the live facility. The system was brought online on schedule and achieved full operational readiness with zero safety incidents.

By go-live, the conveyor and sortation system delivered stable, high-throughput performance from day one. The new system increased the client’s processing capacity, improved accuracy and flow consistency, and provided a scalable foundation for future growth in fulfillment volume.
