MP1000 SLAM AMR Commissioning for Manufacturing Material Handling

PB RoboTech worked with a manufacturing customer to design and deploy an automated internal material-handling solution powered by ten Geek+ MP1000 SLAM AMRs. Before implementation began, PB led the full solution design process, including creating layout drawings, defining the bill of materials, and modeling transport distances, cycle times, and task frequencies to calculate ROI. Using a simulation-based capacity model, PB estimated the optimal fleet size required to support the customer’s production throughput while minimizing idle time and maximizing robot utilization.

Once the design was approved, PB moved into onsite execution. The team began with unboxing and conducting complete hardware readiness checks for all ten MP1000 units to ensure stability and compliance. PB then performed detailed SLAM laser calibration and localization in the customer’s live production environment, building navigation maps, validating anchor points, and ensuring localization accuracy amid constantly moving equipment, forklifts, and operators.

With navigation established, PB deployed and debugged the Geekplus Moving System, configuring robot missions, routing logic, station definitions, and workflow rules. The team verified navigation performance, safety behavior, obstacle detection, and stopping distances under real production conditions. After confirming stable robot behavior, PB configured operational workflows for in-factory material transfers, defining pickup and drop-off points, priority rules, and exception-handling procedures aligned with the customer's existing processes.

Commissioning was carried out directly on active production lines, requiring precise coordination with line supervisors to avoid interruptions. PB validated real routes, tested load stability, monitored multi-robot interaction, and scaled operations from pilot runs to full fleet deployment. The team also provided comprehensive operator training on the Moving System, daily robot operations, charging routines, and basic troubleshooting, supported by clear SOPs and work instructions.

By project completion, all ten robots were fully commissioned, validated, and integrated into the customer’s production workflow. The AMR fleet now performs continuous material transfers across the facility, reducing manual handling, improving safety, increasing consistency, and significantly enhancing operational efficiency. The solution design, simulation modeling, and precise onsite commissioning ensure the system delivers strong ROI and scalable performance for the customer’s manufacturing operations.
